The Drop Movie Reviews
Bullhead crime movie (or Bullhead as Americans call it) Roskam establish his name as a director and star Schoenaerts make a big impression. To drop again appealed Schoenaerts Roskam is also making its debut in the United States.
hell
Gout is based on the novel "Animal Rescue" author Dennis Lehane (Mystic River, Gone Baby Gone, Shutter Island). The film was originally also called "Animal Rescue" but for the wrong association, decided to change the name. One that fits this film is much better.
Gout is a solitary, usually Saginowki waiter Bob (Tom Hardy) who with his employer, and cousin, Marv (James Gandolfini) under wegsluist money from Brooklyn. Envelope with money left literally in a sort of a slot in the box under the bar fell. One night in a bar attack and beat Bob and Marv entangled in a web of intrigue in the context of personal drama and criminal accounts.
Smoke and Mirrors
It is not immediately clear who or believe not, however, Bob seems to be the only real softie. His motto is almost "hear no evil, see no evil '; someone who is not looking for trouble and wanted to cause problems Someone who has hidden his emotions as far as possible, but still provide some evidence. Human feelings when he found an abandoned puppy litter. And in contact with Nadia emotionally withdrawn (Noomi Rapace), with a troubled past.
convincing performances
The most important decline, in addition to a cute dog, British actor Tom Hardy assets. He puts the characters here, which arouse your curiosity. Is that really what it seems: a guy is quiet, peaceful and innocent? Hardy added a seemingly effortless with Bob Sagonowski new exciting role 'they' to his repertoire. As a viewer, you have a direct sympathy for this waitress who seemed friendly. Noomi Rapace plays, as the Millennium trilogy recognized, another beautiful paper with depth. Goals after they looked always fall to repeat his Salander-mimicry. But here they are re-expressed to describe the wonderful performance by Nadia complex character without using clichés.
Soprano-light
James Gandolfini, in his latest movie role, the role is less complex. Marv role, as-tough track, Gandolfini is not challenging outstanding performance. This version of the viewer type of light Soprano (unfortunately) does not take place. Schoenaerts gratitude plays evil threatening task. With his imposing stature, perfect Brooklyn accent and almost indifferent mimicry then print Schoenaerts: Roskam good selection to choose compatriot for this role.
conclusion
The strength of the fall is that it is not a common crime movie. Instead, it is a story about people who have made certain choices in the past and face the consequences every day. Michaël R. Roskam has through camera work and the right choice of actors, ensuring down sometime in the European auteur cinema experience, with a quiet building, time and attention to detail with some images seem almost serene and poetic. The actors are very good company and the characters come alive. Tom Hardy stole the show again with a very convincing role. But Schoenaerts offers fun to play and could face new jobs for American movies. A pleasant prospect for Schoenaerts, but also for movie lovers.
